In the present, Yanao Seijin is placed under Abstergo Industries’ watch and made to relive the memories of Edward Kenway through the Animus. Those memories take him to the Caribbean in 1715, where Edward is a daring young privateer drawn into the lawless pirate republics of the age. His pursuit of fortune and freedom soon entangles him in the ancient conflict between Assassins and Templars, forcing him to decide what cause—if any—is worth fighting for.
