In 2086, the world of jujutsu sorcerers faces a problem unlike the curses they have spent generations fighting: fifty thousand superpowered extraterrestrial Simurians arrive in Japan seeking refuge. Young sorcerers Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu are drawn into the uneasy first contact while investigating kidnappings in Kyoto alongside Maru, an inspector who initially appears ignorant of jujutsu. Their case soon reveals that the arrival of the refugees and Maru’s own strange power may reshape the balance between curses, sorcerers, humans, and an entirely new kind of outsider.
