In a 1920s city ruled as much by organized crime as by ordinary law, Sangha survives with the little family he has left until a mafia conflict destroys that fragile stability. With nowhere safe to turn, he meets a suspiciously charming man whose offer of help arrives at the moment Sangha is most desperate. Their encounter pulls the grieving boy deeper into the city’s violent underworld, where rescue, manipulation, loyalty, and dependence can be difficult to tell apart.
