Shipping Notes

• We'll try to shoulder shipping fees from February 1, 2025 until further notice to see if it will boost customer purchase. NinjaVan is also a good option for us but we don't ship that many to avail their services.
• You may combine books from various orders to reach 4 books and be eligible for free shipping. To do so, please choose "HOLD" as the shipping method and we'll keep the book until you're ready to have it shipped.
• If you have unused free shipping codes for 4 or more books, please send us a support form so we can convert it into a discount code (on February 1 onwards).

* Note: Ships once or twice a week. We cannot accommodate large shipments via J&T Express. It has to be separated into multiple shipments if ever. If you're shipping 9 books, 7 of them will be shipped free, but the remaining 2 will incur a fee unless you ship them into 4-7 again.

* Additionally, if the address isn't on GoGo Xpress' area or if the customer prefers J&T Express, and the order is cash on delivery, fees are higher since J&T Express charges us COD and valuation fees (unlike GoGo Xpress).

Shipping Notes

• J&T Express is strictly for non-COD orders unless your area is not covered by GoGo Xpress, if so, please still choose GoGo Xpress (and we'll ship it via J&T Express).
• If you chose J&T Express as a courier for your COD order but GoGo Xpress can deliver your order there, we'll ship it via GoGo Xpress and your COD amount will be adjusted accordingly.
• Regular-sized books are those around 192 pages, with trim size no bigger than 5" x 7.125" (e.g.: VIZ Media's Shonen Jump books).
• GoGo Xpress texts you for any incoming shipment while you have to manually track your orders via J&T Express.
• GoGo Xpress' small pouch is equivalent to J&T Express' medium pouch, hence the huge difference of their shipping fees.
• Shipping fees depend on weight. Should your order include a larger trim / oversized / thick or hugely-trimmed light novel book, the shipping fee may increase accordingly as these have heavier weights.
• Our maximum weight for shipping is 9 kilograms. Anything exceeding that and we'll be charging from zero again.
• To save on shipping, we encourage you to checkout your orders on Shopee. To do so, just chat us there and we'll transfer stocks there. Take note that external purchases cannot have Bonbon points.
• If you wish to checkout your consolidation thru Shopee, we'll have to fully refund you everything under the consolidation and you have to check them out again on Shopee (plus the 4% Shopee service fee).
• Alternatively, we encourage you to consolidate your orders up to 14 regular-sized books to efficiently save on shipping.
• Since we're not based in Metro Manila, we cannot cater other couriers.
• We believe that Shopee shipping fee is cheaper since they handle a lot of orders throughout the Shopee ecosystem. A rider could go to 20+ addresses in a day and saves a lot on fuel than a regular courier going to 10 or less addresses.
• We have your parcels insured up to ₱500.00 only. If you wish to fully insure your orders, which you'll fully shoulder, on its full item amount, please indicate on the order notes so we could update the charge.
• You may pick-up your orders for free. It won't be packed, however, as it will just be on our paper bag—so we encourage you to bring your own bag (unless you prefer to buy our tote).
• Shipping fee includes service fees (packaging, packing, and pouch fee).
• This shipping table is in effect for orders made May 8 until further notice.

Packaging Notes

• 1 - 3 regular-sized books are packed in a bubble wrap and inserted in a T-shaped single-walled kraft mailer box. 1 random bookmark is included.
• 4 - 6 regular-sized books are packed in a honeycomb or bubble wrap and inserted in a regular-slotted single-walled corrugated kraft box. 1 random bookmark is included.
• 7-14 regular-sized books are either packed the same as 4-6 in two separate boxes or in a single larger box.
• 15+ books are packed in an oversized box provided by the courier. Packaging varies depending on the sizes of the books.
• For box sets, please add around 2 books to what's inside to calculate since we use thick air columns for cushioning.
• For example, for Assassination Classroom Box Set, it has 22 books inside—please calculate the shipping as 24 books.

Tankobonbon's pricing depends on two factors: the book's US dollar price found at the back of the book near the barcode AND the exchange rate (USD to PHP). We do not charge international shipping fees. Local shipping fees are charged separately.

Pricing Types

You can sometimes determine the price of a book depending on the publisher, trim size, imprint, and/or if it's an omnibus. This table is just a general reference.

Some books are cheaper

Some books from certain publishers are cheaper by around 5% such as Kodansha, Vertical, Seven Seas, Square Enix, Dark Horse, INKLORE, and Tokyopop.

Backorder price

Backorders by default are ₱7.00 off when invoiced.

Pre-order price

Pre-orders by default are ₱7.00 off. Some books that fall under the cheaper rate on the table above are 7% off when invoiced.

Determining the exchange rate

We refer to the exchange rate because we are paying our suppliers and couriers in dollars. There are also foreign currency charges in play that we'd like to cover.

The exchange rate is determined by a couple of factors:

• If it reaches the 0.5 line consistently for a week -- which means if the exchange rate is fluctuating between, for example, ₱56.50 to ₱56.99 for a week straight, chances are, we'll abide by the ₱57.00 exchange rate.
• The "consistency" breaks when it has fallen lower than 0.5 for three days straight.
• Price freeze -- there are occasions where we disregard the rise and fall of rates and retain the current website pricing; this usually occurs when there's a major event we're attending (such as the Manila International Book Fair every September).
• Owner's discretion -- Tankobonbon's owner has the sole right to edit the overall pricing if they wish to increase or decrease it, usually depending on how impactful the rise and fall of rates are against supplier payments.

At Tankobonbon, we strive to ensure that you receive your ordered books in pristine condition. However, unforeseen circumstances may lead to damages during transit or warehousing. We understand the disappointment that can come with receiving a damaged book, hence, we strive to provide a fair and transparent compensation policy to address such situations. Please take note of the following guidelines:

Minor Damages:

• Definition: Minor damages include spine or cover chips, dents, tears, or other issues that do not render the book unreadable.
• Compensation: Tankobonbon offers monetary compensation ranging from 1-5+% of the book's value, depending on the severity of the damage. The customer will be asked for refund details, or the refund amount may carry over for unpaid balances, or internally note it as a usable discount for future purchases. Photos will be provided upon arrival or during the Dispatch procedure to inform the customer. Once arrived on the customer's end, these books are not returnable, replaceable, nor refundable since the customer confirmed its condition when they "Proceed" with the photos provided during Dispatch.

Major Damages:

• Definition: Major damages encompass printer issues such as wrong cover, missing pages, misprints, upside-down covers, or unreadable issues.
• Resolution: Customers can initiate a return request for major damages. However, take note that this depends on stock availability.
• If a better copy is on hand, immediate return and replacement will be initiated. Tankobonbon covers all associated fees.
• If backordering is required, the return and replacement will proceed once the new copy is secured. We will inform the supplier about the issue and check for the availability of correct copies from the same batch. Tankobonbon covers all associated fees.

Unavailability of Stock (Backordering):

• Definition: Occasions may arise where the damaged book for replacement is out of stock both at Tankobonbon and the supplier, necessitating backordering.
• Resolution: Tankobonbon will initiate a return and replacement once the backordered copy is secured or if backordering is not feasible, Tankobonbon offers a full refund for the book, and the decision to return the damaged copy is at Tankobonbon's discretion.

Damages From the Local Courier

• All shipments, irrespective of size, have a default maximum courier insurance of ₱500.00, as outlined in our shipping guidelines. Customers have the option to request full coverage by paying a 1% product value insurance fee, directly allocated to the courier.
• We can report damages to the courier, provided the customer submits photographic or video evidence before, during, and after opening the parcel. Upon receiving the courier's insurance coverage, the full amount is promptly forwarded to the buyer.
• The customer will also be asked by Tankobonbon if they prefer to change their default courier for smoother shipping process going forward.

Lost and Untrackable Parcels:

• In the unfortunate event of a parcel becoming lost and untrackable despite correct shipping information, we will report the issue to the courier. The insured coverage will be utilized to purchase another copy for the customer. While this amount may not always cover the overall parcel value, Tankobonbon will cover the remaining cost to ensure the buyer receives their order, although this may lead to a longer waiting period.
• Stock availability is a factor, and if certain books need to be backordered, they will be held upon arrival and shipped with future orders or shipped free of charge. All associated fees in these scenarios will be covered by Tankobonbon.
• In rare cases where a book is impossible to backorder, a full refund for that specific book will be issued.

Incorrect Book Shipped:

• Upon investigation and it was indeed shipped incorrectly, a return and replacement will be issued and all associated fees will be shouldered by Tankobonbon. Should the return process becomes inconvenient for the customer's end (in the case where a rider is unable to pickup the item), only a replacement will be issued, unless the customer is fine keeping the incorrect book with no replacement.
