Shortly before Eivor’s adventures, Viking jarl Stensson and his sons Ulf and Björn sail for England at the call of Halfdan Ragnarsson and Ivarr the Boneless. The brothers arrive eager for battle against Alfred the Great and the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms, but conquest proves more complicated than the glory they imagined. Their campaign explores the alliances, rivalries, and costs surrounding the Norse expansion into England.
