Nine-year-old Lily Lockwood has grown up largely secluded by her noble family because she is deaf. Her life changes when the adventuring party Crimson Vow protects her home from a bandit attack and the encounter leaves her able to hear, communicate with mysterious nanomachines, and use magic. With her attendant Lafine beside her, Lily leaves the sheltered life she knew and sets out to discover the wider world and what she wants to do with her new abilities.
