Five years after vampires become publicly recognized, humans and vampires attempt to coexist within six sanctioned districts of Tokyo. That fragile arrangement is threatened by Amrita, a mysterious drug made for vampires that can drive its users into dangerous states. As investigators including Amane and Taiyo follow the drug’s spread, they are drawn into the political and social tensions beneath the supposed peace. Their cases unfold in a city where law, prejudice, organized power, and rock music all become part of the struggle over what coexistence is supposed to mean.
