Working for God in a Godless World (Main Story)
Yukito Urabe grows up under a cult leader who devotes his followers to the god Mitama, only to become the victim of one of his father’s rituals. He awakens in another world where organized religion does not exist and initially believes he has finally escaped gods altogether. That relief disappears when he learns how the ruling empire controls and eliminates people it considers unnecessary. To protect the friends he has made, Yukito is forced to call upon the very deity he once wanted nothing to do with, bringing Mitama—and the idea of faith—into a world that has never known either.
