Yu and Mika continue to watch as long-lost, forbidden memories of the past unfold before their eyes. The angel Mikaela is attacked by Saito, but Mikaela’s power is too great, and he ultimately defeats his would-be attacker. But before taking his last breath, Saito reveals the truth to Mikaela—that his existence is taboo and his father, Sika Madu, will be punished for creating him. Mikaela is so distraught by this revelation that he brings a knife to his own neck. As the mysterious plague spreads, more of Sika Madu’s friends take their own lives, another cardinal sin that ensures their souls will never be reborn, and Sika Madu decides to cross a line to commit the ultimate sin—using the Tower of Babel to bring all of his friends back to life. But things don’t go according to plan, and as Yu and Mika watch the damned Sika Madu rise from the ashes after millenia of torment, a shocking truth is revealed to them that even the First doesn’t know...that the son he wants so badly to resurrect is alive, and Mika and Yu are not who they think they are.
