High schooler Mutsumi struggles to express herself—so much so that she’s given up on talking altogether. In class, she freezes up and says nothing when the teacher calls on her to read out passages from the textbook. So what happens when an international transfer student who doesn’t speak a word of Japanese sits down at the desk next to hers?
