Luciole awakens after an impossibly long sleep to a world that appears abandoned, with no trace of the people or civilization that once existed there. His only companion is Claude, a man claiming to be a five-hundred-year-old archmage. Together they set out through the empty landscape to discover what happened and whether they are truly the only lives left in the world.
