Asahi lives in a small apartment with something that looks like her childhood friend Minoru, even though Minoru died four years earlier. The being beside her is not truly human and repeatedly threatens her life, but Asahi refuses to let it go. Her attachment to the memory of Minoru keeps her inside a dangerous domestic world where love, grief, and horror have become impossible to separate.
