Vampire Yoru would much rather enjoy human cooking than feed directly on people, but his body can only digest ordinary food after he drinks blood first. To make that strange diet work, Yoru hunts criminals and other dangerous people at night, treating blood as the necessary prelude to the meals he truly loves. His nightly routine mixes supernatural predation with an unexpectedly serious passion for good food.
