Shima starts a new job by getting trapped in an elevator with a hungover stranger who turns out to be his new boss, Togawa. Shima initially dislikes Togawa’s blunt behavior but gradually discovers a compassionate side that makes him difficult to dismiss. Both men carry painful histories that make intimacy frightening, so even obvious mutual attraction cannot erase Shima’s fear of taking the first step toward another relationship.
