When a string of suspicious deaths appears to involve a religious cult, police officer Norito is sent to investigate and brings along his brother Shinji, a folklorist whose expertise may help explain what ordinary police work cannot. Their search leads them to Hirasaka, an isolated village deep in the snowy mountains, and to Yoshiomi, the enigmatic Shinto priest who presides over it. Trapped among ancient rituals, local secrets, and growing danger, the brothers must uncover what the village is hiding before the investigation claims them as well.
