Salaryman Hitomu is pulled from an uneventful life into an interdimensional tournament where contestants are expected to fight until only the strongest remain. After repeated defeats, he is matched against four opponents considered just as weak as he is. Rather than continue the tournament, Hitomu helps them escape. The five fugitives—each dismissed as useless by the competition—must combine their strange abilities to survive together on a hostile world while evading the system that wanted them to eliminate one another.
