Haru is mortally wounded while trying to stop what he believes is a mugging, only to have his life saved by the vampire Akihito. The rescue begins Haru’s own transformation into a vampire, leaving him vulnerable to others of their kind and dependent on Akihito as he adjusts to a dangerous new existence.
