Polish orphan Lila lives in a mansion with an immortal being known as the Count while Europe is torn apart by war. Witnessing the conflict alongside German soldier Joerg convinces Lila to use the Count’s powers in an attempt to protect her homeland, placing personal loyalty and supernatural possibility inside the much larger forces reshaping nations and lives.
