Thirty-five-year-old English instructor Hinata runs a conversation school from her apartment and has long resigned herself to being single. Then former student Shotaro appears at her door, now eighteen and preparing to finish high school, and proposes marriage with the same determination he apparently carried for years. Hinata must decide how to respond to a former student who is no longer the child she remembers but is still seventeen years younger than she is.
