In the Soviet Union of the 1930s, a young wheelchair user known as Bielka travels with her quiet companion Shchenok while both conceal their true identities. Their movements bring them through a political landscape shaped by revolution, surveillance, and unresolved questions surrounding the old imperial order. Historical figures and fictional conspiracies overlap as the pair try to survive a state where the wrong name, loyalty, or secret can become dangerous.
