Takopi is a cheerful alien who comes to Earth determined to spread happiness and meets Shizuka, a deeply unhappy fourth grader. Certain that advanced gadgets and time travel can solve whatever is hurting her, Takopi repeatedly intervenes without understanding the human relationships around him. His well-meant attempts have serious consequences, forcing the innocent visitor to learn that pain cannot always be undone simply by turning back time.
