On her first expedition into a labyrinth, inexperienced adventurer Alice is overwhelmed by beastmen and rescued by a young man named Leon. Leon calls himself a monster, but Alice sees something in him that does not fit the ruined world’s expectations of what monsters are supposed to be. Convinced he may have the strength and character to become a hero, she becomes the first person to believe his existence could help save rather than threaten humanity.
