Model student Nijou appears perfect because he is terrified that any failure will make people reject him. Asked to check on absent classmate Toomi, he meets someone who sees through that insecurity immediately—and later discovers the secret work Toomi performs to pay family debts, leaving Nijou uncertain whether his growing feelings are for the persona or the person behind it.
