Livingstone
Sakurai and Amano work with the idea that a person’s soul carries a predetermined course through life. When someone dies outside that course, the resulting spiritual contamination can pull other lives toward the same fate. Their job is to find people approaching untimely deaths, either preventing the event or recovering the dangerous “livingstone” left behind before more harm spreads.
