Yuta and Ritsu have played baseball together since childhood, but a tournament loss ends their high school team career and forces them to turn toward university entrance exams. Yuta cannot let go of the sport, while Ritsu becomes strangely distant just when Yuta needs the one teammate who understands him best. Their final season leaves both boys questioning whether the bond between them was ever only about baseball.
