High schooler Atsushi Andou hides that he is gay because he desperately wants the conventional future he believes everyone expects: marriage, a family, and a life that will not mark him as different. Discovering classmate Sae Miura reading boys’ love manga unexpectedly gives the two a point of connection, but Sae’s enthusiasm for fictional gay romance does not mean she understands Atsushi’s real experience. Their relationship forces both teenagers to confront the gap between imagined stories, social expectations, and an actual person trying to accept himself.
