What is 'pre-order'?

How do I place a pre-order?

ENG: Just visit the page of an unreleased book and click on the orange box that says 'PRE-ORDER FORM HERE.' You will be directed to a pre-order form to fill out.

What do I need to submit a pre-order?

ENG: You'll just need a tankobonbon.com account! It is much better to login before pre-ordering so that the form will be pre-filled with your email address.

Can I pre-order more than 1 copy?

ENG: Yes, upto 60.

Do pre-order prices change?

ENG: They can for two reasons: if the publisher updates the price or the site's exchange rate changes (since we just convert the US price of books).

Do pre-orders close?

ENG: Yes, when it reaches one month before the release date, although we're quite flexible and you can still make last-minute pre-orders (but it can arrive a little late).

What if the release date changes?

ENG: You'll receive an email about the change in release date. The pre-order and cancel period will also change accordingly.

Do I need to pay when I submit a pre-order?

ENG: Nope. We'll only charge you when we confirmed from our supplier that our order for your pre-ordered book is confirmed to be delivered to us. This usually happens a few weeks or days before the release date. When this happens, you'll receive a 7-day invoice for your pre-order and you can choose to pay online via card/e-wallet or cash on delivery.

When do pre-orders arrive?

ENG: We don't have a consistent timeframe of pre-order arrivals, but some books arrive to us before the release date, mostly a few days after the release date, but rarely more than a month after.

Can I pick-up my pre-order at the Tankobonbon physical store?

ENG: Yes, just choose 'In-store pickup' under the 'Order Notes' part of the pre-order form.

If my pre-order arrived at Tankobonbon before the release date, can you ship it to me already?

ENG: Nope. We try to ship them so that it arrives to you on or after the release date.

What if I have multiple pre-orders on different dates; can I have them shipped together on a certain date?

ENG: Yes. Just choose 'HOLD' as an 'Order Note' on the pre-order form and when your pre-order arrives, we won't ship it to you yet and we'll keep it for you. Once you're ready to have all your held books shipped, just let us know by sending us a 'Ship order early' request at help.tankobonbon.com/request or chat us on our social media.

ENG: Kind of. You'll need to have an account at our Help Center to do that (must have at least 1 active order/pre-order/backorder) and visit the Subscriptions page.

What's the timeline for pre-orders?

ENG: For example, you're pre-ordering a book releasing July 7.
* Date when you pre-order: March 1.
* Date when pre-orders close: June 7.
* Date when we'll charge you (varies): June 20. (You can still cancel until June 19)
* Date when the invoice deadline ends: June 27. (If you failed to choose COD or settle your online payment after this date, your pre-order is canceled.)
* Date of arrival at Tankobonbon in Cavite (varies): July 5.
* Date of shipment to you: July 7.
* Date of arrival to you (if Metro Manila): July 9.
