Ferry works as a mythical beast investigator, traveling wherever conflict breaks out between humans and the magical creatures sharing their world. Accompanied by otherworldly bodyguard Kushuna, she approaches each case by discovering why a supposedly dangerous beast is acting as it does rather than assuming extermination is the answer. Their investigations repeatedly reveal that monsters and humans can both have reasons worth understanding.
